What is Hypnotheraphy 

Hypnotherapy is used in a therapeutic session to help individuals change habits, lessen symptoms and treat a variety of conditions.

 

During a Hypnotherapy session, your practitioner will lead you to a deeply relaxed state and then utilise specific techniques to address your session goals.

You remain in full control for the duration of the session

Hypnotheraphy vs hypnosis

Hypnosis is a natural state in which an individual becomes highly relaxed and receptive to suggestions.

 

The hypnotic stage can be induced by a trained therapist with the help of verbal cues or guided imagery.

Hypnotherapy describes the therapeutic process that uses the state of hypnosis to support clients achieve personal goals and overcome mental and emotional problems.

How does hypnotheraphy work?

Your hypnotherapy session consists of the following elements: 

Introductory Chat: Discuss what you hope to achieve during the session and what methods your therapist will use.

Induction: Your therapist will help you relax by guiding your attention to your breath or focusing your attention on specific mental images. 

Deepening: Your therapist will safely guide you deeper into the hypnotic state, increasing relaxation and focus.

Emergence: At the end of the session, you will be gently guided out of the hypnosis. This is followed by a closing conversation and an evaluation of he session.

Who Can benefit 

Hypnotherapy can be useful to individuals:

  • with physical problems requiring pain management

  • those struggling with insomnia and stress hormone levels

  • those with busy or stressful lives seeking relaxation and clarity 

Though hypnotherapy can be beneficial to individuals with a variety of physical or mental issues, it is not a one-size-fits-all solution. We are happy to discuss whether a session might be right for you.

Important: Hypnotherapy is not advised if you have psychosis or certain types of personality disorders. We are happy to provide guidance for your particular case.

Where does a the session take place?

The private session of up to 3 hours is usually held in person at the Huachuma Project or an agreed-upon location of your choice in the Algarve.
