A purpose-built retreat experience

Our three-night Huachuma retreats are designed for those seeking an honest and intentional space for self-inquiry, personal growth and meaningful connection. We intentionally keep our groups small, with a maximum of 12 participants, allowing us to offer a more personal and supportive experience from preparation through to integration.

The Huachuma Project has been intentionally developed over many years as a dedicated space for this work. Set on our secluded off-grid land in the Algarve, every ceremony space, guest area and building has been thoughtfully created to support the retreat experience because we believe the environment is as much a part of the journey as the medicine itself.

Each retreat is held within a clear and respectful container, with experienced facilitation, thoughtful preparation and lifetime integration support for those who continue to work with what the medicine has shown them.

We believe meaningful retreats are shaped not only by the medicine itself, but by the people, the environment and the care with which every part of the experience is held.

A held container

The Huachuma Project is not a drop-in ceremony space. We place strong emphasis on preparation, emotional safety, clear boundaries, and integration, so that each participant enters the work with respect for themselves, the medicine, and the group.

Our retreats are held in a carefully held container, with guidance before, during, and after the ceremony. We work with small groups so there is space to be seen, supported, and met as an individual.

We don't believe our role is to direct the experience or provide all the answers. Our responsibility is to create a safe, respectful environment where people can explore their own experience with honesty, while knowing they're supported every step of the way.

Nature Immersion With Comfort

Set within our secluded off-grid valley in Southern Portugal, the retreat offers the opportunity to slow down, reconnect with nature and step away from the distractions of everyday life. Comfortable accommodation and thoughtfully designed spaces provide a peaceful environment to rest, reflect and integrate between ceremonies.

why three nights?

We intentionally keep our retreats to three nights, creating enough time to settle into the space, participate in two ceremonies and begin the process of integration before returning home. While no retreat can complete the work for you, we believe this balance provides a strong foundation that participants can continue building on afterwards with ongoing integration support.

Our 3-Night Huachuma Retreat includes:

  • Two San Pedro / Huachuma ceremonies

  • Three nights of accommodation in our shared rooms

  • Optional private accommodation upgrade: €100 per night for solo occupancy or €85 per person, per night when shared

  • Preparation guidance before arrival

  • Lifetime integration support

  • Small group facilitation (max. 12 participants)

  • Home-cooked meals throughout the retreat

  • Access to our secluded off-grid valley

  • Optional return transfer from Faro Airport — €50

Retreat Structure

Arrival & welcome

Guests arrive, settle into their accommodation and are welcomed into the retreat space with an evening meal and opening circle. This is an opportunity to meet the group, discuss intentions, become familiar with the space and begin stepping away from the pace of everyday life in preparation for the ceremonies ahead.

Ceremony Days

Over the following days, guests participate in two traditional Huachuma ceremonies, with plenty of time between them for rest, reflection and integration. The schedule is intentionally spacious, allowing each person's experience to unfold naturally without feeling rushed. Throughout the retreat, support and guidance are available whenever needed.

Integration & Departure

Our final morning is dedicated to reflection, group sharing and integration before guests begin their journey home. While the retreat itself comes to an end, the process of integration often continues long afterwards. That's why we offer lifetime integration support for those wishing to continue exploring what the medicine has revealed.

where you'll find us

The Huachuma Project is located within the peaceful hills of the Western Algarve in Southern Portugal,

Most international guests choose to fly into Faro Airport before hiring a car or taking a taxi directly to the retreat. If you're already travelling through Portugal, the Algarve is also well connected by rail, with a short taxi journey completing the final part of the trip.

Who This Is For

This retreat is for those who feel ready to approach Huachuma with sincerity, humility and personal responsibility. Whether you're navigating a period of change, seeking a deeper understanding of yourself or simply feel genuinely called to this work, we invite you to come with an open mind and a willingness to engage honestly with the process.

This is not a recreational experience or a quick fix. Our retreats are held within a safe and respectful group environment, where preparation, honest facilitation and meaningful integration are considered just as important as the ceremonies themselves.

Every retreat begins with a conversation

We don't offer instant bookings because we believe Huachuma is best approached with intention rather than impulse. Every retreat at The Huachuma Project begins with a conversation, giving us the opportunity to get to know one another, answer your questions and explore whether the retreat feels like the right next step for you.

Meaningful retreat experiences begin long before the ceremony itself. Taking the time to understand one another helps create the foundations for a safe, supportive and well-prepared retreat for everyone involved.

If we both feel the retreat is the right next step, we'll guide you through the preparation process before welcoming you to the Algarve for a carefully held retreat centred on honest facilitation, meaningful self-inquiry and lifetime integration support.
