In this work, commitment begins with a simple act: reaching out.
It’s not just about reserving a spot—it’s about declaring to yourself (and to us) that you’re ready to show up fully. When you get in touch, it tells us you’re serious about stepping into this transformative journey.
It’s also how we get to know you—your needs, your intentions, and how we can hold space for your unique process. The work starts the moment you say, “I’m ready.”
We only work with committed, honest and sincere participants who value safely held, sacred spaces and honour this time for deep insight and self-reflection.
For those who hesitate, perhaps the timing isn’t right—and that’s okay. But for those who feel the pull, who know they’re ready to step into the journey with courage and commitment, we invite you to take the first step.

Retreat Structure

Arrival Day
You are welcome to arrive at the Huchuma Project between 2–5 PM, settle into your accommodation and the land, and begin to unwind.
We offer transfers from Faro Airport (€50 Retrun) on the first day of the retreat and return transfers on the last day. Seats are limited and need to be pre-booked.
As the sun sets, we provide a nourishing dinner, set intentions and meet each other.

First Day - Ceremony
After a light breakfast, we gather in the ceremony space at around 10:30AM. The group sharing circle offers an opportunity to clarify questions and set intentions for the journey to follow.
Huauchuma ceremonies last between 6 and 10 hours and flow organically, guided by the needs of the group. The ceremony itself is rooted in presence and introspection, with no storytelling from facilitators, allowing participants to focus inwardly. Guests are encouraged to bring a journal to document their personal experiences.
As evening falls, we come together in our meditation garden by the fire (Fire circles are season-dependent) for integration, sharing and a grounding meal, before resting deeply.

During the Ceremony
Facilitators provide live music, meditative guidance, and grounding support throughout the ceremony. Silent periods and communal connection allow for deep individual reflection and emotional processing.
Guests must adhere to the retreat's Code of Conduct and Ethics to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all. Smoking or vaping during ceremonies is strictly prohibited.
Ceremonies transition naturally into integrative practices, such as a shared dinner, storytelling, and communitas to foster connection and collective healing. The group often bonds through shared reflection and relaxed, tribe-like vibes.

Second Day - Ceremony
After a good rest, we start around 10:00 with a nourishing breakfast. We gather once more in the ceremonial space for a circle to reflect on insights from the first ceremony. The second day often builds and deepens the work, beginning at 10 AM
The evening closes with a sacred fire circle (Fire is season dependent), music, sharing and a nourishing meal as we begin to anchor the weekend’s transformations.

Integration & Departure
Our final morning is gentle. We share breakfast, sit in an integration circle and receive tools for continuing the work at home. Departures begin at midday with transfers back to Faro, or you may choose to linger on the land a little longer.

Curious about San Pedro/Huachuma?

What is a Huachuma Ceremony?
A San Pedro ceremony is a sacred and transformative experience that invites participants to reconnect with their inner truth, nature, and the collective human spirit. Facilitated by the use of Huachuma (San Pedro cactus), a revered plant medicine, the ceremony offers a heart-opening journey to process unresolved emotions, gain clarity, and embrace personal responsibility.
At The Huachuma Project, our San Pedro ceremonies are uniquely tailored to provide a safe, structured, and supportive environment where honesty, maturity, and personal accountability are essential.

Who can join?
San Pedro ceremonies are ideal for those who:
-
Are ready to take responsibility for their lives and commit to self-growth.
-
Seek emotional clarity, healing, or a deeper connection with themselves and nature.
-
Have the maturity and accountability to communicate openly and embrace personal transformation.

What makes our ceremonies unique?
Heart-Centered and Grounded: San Pedro helps participants gently confront unresolved emotions and connect deeply with their heart.
Integration Focus: Resources such as the Integration & Assimilation Pack help participants incorporate their insights into everyday life.
Sustainability and Reverence for Nature: The ceremonies honour the land, and daily meals include a variety of locally grown vegetables (season dependent).
Small Group sizes: We welcome a maximum of 12 guests per retreat, allowing us to offer individualised support to all clients as needed
